Blue Monday brings joy as the next Spezial crop arrives

In theory today is the most depressing day of the year, which we're trying our best to make sure for this year at least, this isn't the case. We've added a nice bunch of Spezial gear, including a couple of new models from the most recent AW25 SPZL collection such as the GS II SPZL. There's some new accessories to chose from such as the SPZL F.C Ball and the first ever keyring SPZL. There's also the small matter of a Manchester X CP Company SPZL restock, in case you were still feeling down..

Spezial X CP Company Returns

Launched at the tail end of 2024 to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Spezial, adidas teamed up with Italian giants CP Company to deliver a mammoth collection of highly sought after trainers and apparel. The Manchester SPZL were one of the standout pairs, and is a slightly updated take on the 2016 GT model. The upper material has changed to nylon and the stripe design is a bit different, but the overall look is just as good.

Grand Slam just as Grand

Continuing the theme of 10 year anniversaries, 2025 marked a decade since the GS SPZL reissue, which was a one-to-one version of the tennis classic. This 2025 model is definitely not that, as shown by the new tooling pinched from the Galaxy. The white leather upper and 'three plug' suspension has of course been left unchanged.

Another Outstanding Hiker

If it's one style of shoe that the Spezial consistency nail, it's the hiker / trainer hybrid model such as these Grisedale SPZL. This is the latest design following on from classics such as the Winterhill and Hiaven, which features the usual aditex membrane and gusset tongue. The teal colour adds an extra brightness not usually seen on this style of shoe, which used similar models from the 1990s as inspiration.

Lytham Re-run

he adidas Spezial has long history of leisure style trainers, going all the way back to the Touring SPZL released 10 years ago. In recent years there hasn't been as many releases, so it's great to see a new pair called the Lytham SPZL for AW25. The Lytham has a dark brown suede upper based loosely on the vintage Palermo, and sits on a Bermuda style midsole.

And finally.. new extras!

2025 saw two new first for the adidas Spezial range. Firstly, a football was released alongside the SPZL F.C range, which is inspired by the iconic Telstar and Tango models featured in past World Cups. A few weeks later there was another first, this time a keyring was released as part of the AW25 range. The design has a nice leather finish and is much bigger than you might think so please take note of the dimensions on the product page.
