Despite the name deriving from a Manchester suburb, the Failsworth SPZL actually originate from a vintage model called the Barbados, which was a light brown leisure shoe also sitting on Tobacco tooling. The asymmetric toe-box has come from the Universal SL, and the 'chocolate box' style tongue label has become a regular feature for suede models in Spezial collections.
