Unlike a lot of the Spezial creations which are based around lesser known models from the adidas archive, the Hawaii have been well-known for a while thanks to some recent re-issues. This design is a Spezial take on the 1977 'Made in France' version, although the suede colour is slightly lighter and the toe-box slightly shorter. The original foam tongue has also been replaced with a suede one instead.
